How We Got Started
Jami Lynn Designs, the home-based business of Jami Lynn Ulrey Boys, was begun to celebrate the beauty and craftsmanship of vintage materials while showcasing the items Jami created from a blend of old and quality new materials. Vintage (anything from the 1930’s-1960’s) fabrics, embroideries, buttons, jewelry and ribbons that Jami has collected become the basis for pillows and quillows, purses, cinch-top bags to use for gift bags, laundry, etc., sachets and neck pillows, eyeglass cases, and even bookmarks, notecards and gift tags that use up the smallest scraps of material! Our inventory is always changing, so please check back often.

A Letter From Jami:
With a shared passion for history and crafts, I have collected vintage embroideries, buttons, ribbons and fabrics for years and have encorporated them into sewing projects for myself, family and friends. Jami Lynn Designs grew out of my love for the beauty and fine craftsmanship apparent in vintage materials that ended up in thrift stores, yard sales and stashed away in people’s closets. I coudn’t resist “rescuing” these items when I considered the hours of work and love these women must have put into creating them. I wanted to create new ways to use things that are no longer needed or used like dresser scarves, tea towels, or antimassacars. Even the craftsmanship of manufactured items stand out in comparison to today: real shell and bone buttons, detailed bakelite and plastic buttons, and ribbons made with cotton, silk and rayon. Along the way, I began to embrace the philosophy inherent when working with older materials of “reuse and recycle” more completely. Thus, old felted wool sweaters became purses and pillows, cupboard doors became chalk and memo boards and small ceramic containers became delicate pin cusions. |
Our Return Policy
Unfortunately, we have a no return policy on items shipped through the mail or UPS. Shipping is too expensive. Also, the items we sell are made with vintage materials, which may have sustained some wear and fading in their long life. If An Item Is Damaged In Shipping Each item is unique and cannot be replaced. If something becomes damaged in transit, we will send you the paperwork to make an insurance claim (if sent through the mail -- UPS claims are handled at our end). You will be able get a refund of your purchase price.
